I write novels about ordinary people caught in difficult human questions—truth and deception, justice and revenge, belief and doubt, loyalty and betrayal, suffering, power, conscience, and responsibility.
Most of my fiction is rooted in and around Boaz, Alabama.
It is a world of families, churches, schools, courtrooms, businesses, old friendships, private wounds, buried secrets, and ordinary people whose lives are disrupted when something they trusted no longer holds.
The novels range across mystery, suspense, crime, family drama, and psychological fiction.
Some begin with a disappearance.
Some with an injustice.
Some with a secret.
Some with a belief that has gone unquestioned for too long.
What connects them is not a single genre or formula. It is the pressure created when ordinary people are forced to confront difficult questions—and decide what they will do next.
The Boaz Novels
Boaz is more than a setting.
It is the recurring landscape of much of my fiction: a small Alabama town where people know one another, institutions matter, memories linger, and the past has a way of finding its way into the present.
These novels are presented in the order they were first published, tracing the development of that fictional world over time. Each title links to a page about the story, its characters, and the questions beneath it.

Forthcoming
The Boaz Superstition
Dr. Julian Stoner is a psychiatrist, former pastor, and lifelong student of belief. When he returns to Boaz, he finds himself increasingly drawn into questions that reach beyond private faith and into family, community, education, and the assumptions people inherit without examining.
The Boaz Superstition explores belief and doubt, certainty and evidence, and what can happen when questions that have long remained unasked finally become unavoidable.
Looking Ahead
The difficult human questions have always been present in my fiction.
In my newer novels, I intend to place those questions even more deliberately at the center of the story.
The next project under development is The Boaz Slaughterhouse, a novel that will explore animal suffering, human responsibility, and what happens when an ordinary person begins looking closely at practices most people have learned not to see.
